Ophidian Throne: Character Designs, Zafir

Our protagonist Zafir Vika is a dragon from the Firesea, cursed in human form and raised by sorcerers to live among humans.

He had the toughest and longest design process as both forms need to mirror each other somewhat. His human form needed to stick out in the crowd and feel imponent, but be goofy enough to make him more relatable.

The dragon form took the most time, from dinosaur studies I took the Baryonyx, mashed it with a barracuda and added some details from a lionfish plus a color pallete for a tropical feel. The horns and snout converge to cut surface tension. The wings, though made for swimming, can extend further for flight
